Sections

Five desks, one standard.

Geopolitics

Not who is winning the news cycle, but what is actually changing, why, and for whom.

Culture

Film, food, faith, architecture, language, craft. Close reading over hot takes.

History

Essays that give the present a past: empires, trade routes, inventions, ordinary lives.

Science

Mathematics, medicine, the sky, the sea, and the machines we are building, explained with patience.

Good News

Verified, specific, sourced. The weekly letter and its longer stories. The antidote, not the anaesthetic.

Our promise

Every piece read by an editor. Every claim linked to its source. Every correction logged in public.

Writers and journalists

We pay for good work, and edit it with care.

We are commissioning the first twenty pieces now: essays of 1,500 to 4,000 words with a clear argument, real sourcing, and a voice. Reported pieces, explainers, and photo essays are welcome. Opinion without evidence is not.

Pitches are three paragraphs: the idea, why now, and why you. Send them to editors@saqibstudios.com. We reply to every pitch within ten days. Rates are shared on acceptance and paid on publication.
